ABOUT

I'm Léna Lehoczky

interior designer and mother of three.
I design homes, offices and stores you fall in love with.

INTERIOR DESIGN

I’ve been doing with interiors since 2002. With my team of seasoned professionals, we welcome full makeovers and conversions. I started my studies in this field in 2004, completing several courses in interior design and home design software. Currently enrolled at the New York Institute of Art + Design, I focus on staying abreast of the latest trends and styles that I incorporate into my projects.

  • Furniture make over
  • Annie Sloan Chalk Paint decorative paint workshop
  • Furniture painted with folk art motifs
  • Stencil wall art and decoration

The homes I’ve worked on were all loved by clients and friends alike. Rather than emanating a fresh-out-of-a-catalogue feel, these eclectic yet refined places are filled with love and very much alive. With limited budgets, each was thoughtfully designed down to the last detail and not a penny was wasted. Whenever one of these homes were placed on the market they were sold without negotiation at the very first open house. What once was an investment now delivered handsome returns. Just like that hole in the wall in Budapest’s District 13, which I turned into an adorable girly place. Buyers actually started a bidding war and the apartment was sold 30 percent above the asking price.

SOFT FURNISHING

It was my Russian grandmother and mother, who used to call me Lenoushka, from whom first I learned not only the basic techniques of sewing and knitting, but also to appreciate beauty and creativity. As a child I would browse Burda magazines for patterns and then design dresses for my dolls, and have my mom take me to fabric shops on a regular basis. Later on, as part of my work in interior design, I began to craft the curtains myself, and I have recently completed a soft furnishing course and a fabric manipulation workshop in England, the epicentre of the textile industry. My mentors were Monika de Silva and Ruth Singer. In my studio, I create bespoke curtains and other handmade soft furnishings. Masterpieces – made to order. All my window treatments are lined and pleated by hand, often featuring various decorative touches. Merely cutting the drapery and throwing on a header tape is just not my thing - almost anyone can do that. My portfolio of Lenoushka curtains and cushions includes various collections ranging from Country Style to Glamour.

WALL ART

I’ve been into painting and drawing ever since I was a little girl. Working on miniature designs that require utmost precision is one of my favourites. It was around the time our third child was born that a new chapter in my life began, when I painted a gorgeous magic tree. Today I use stencils to give an extra edge of aesthetics to my décors, be it with a geometric or floral pattern.
